We are  looking forward to seeing you at the 8th Annual Reindeer Run in Boulder Creek on December 24th, 2024! The Reindeer Run will happen RAIN or SHINE. Water will just enhance the Boulder Creek experience!

 

Where:  The event will begin and end at Junction Park, located at 13264 Middleton Avenue, Boulder Creek. 

 

When:  There are five heats this year. You can participate in whichever heat you wish, but please be aware that the earlier heats will have more runners than walkers. 

 

9:00am - Runners: This is a competitive heat, but anyone can join in

9:15am - Everyone

9:30am - Everyone

9:45am - Everyone

10:00am - Animals and their humans, and everyone

 

Sign In:  Please sign in at Junction Park 15 minutes before your scheduled heat, so that we can ensure that everyone gets to the start line on time. Please do not come more than 15 minutes before your heat since we will be signing in earlier heat participants.  We will provide maps and put up signs that will keep you on the course. 

Your friends can register on the day of the race. Please ask them to come 20 minutes early to give them enough time to register before their heat. 

 

Parking:  There is street parking on Highway 9. Parking is also available at the following locations: Boulder Creek Recreation parking lot, Boulder Creek Library, Liberty Bank and Post Office parking lot (other than along sidewalks), Schwarzbach Realty lot, and Scopazzi’s Restaurant. Please be aware that there won’t be any parking on Middleton Ave. (See the map below for additional parking areas.) 

If you are disabled or transporting someone who needs accessible parking, please speak to the volunteer at the corner of Middleton and Railroad Avenues, and they will direct you to a drop off point. 

 

Costumes:  Costumes are very much encouraged! There will be prizes for best human and animal costumes in each heat. 

 

Animals:  We love seeing your animal companions. For those of you bringing animals, please make sure that you have control of your animal/s at all times and please clean up after them to make this event enjoyable for all participants and neighbors.  We will have a prize for “Most Unique Animal” in the Animal heat at 10 am.

 

Safety:  Crossing guards will direct traffic at the two intersections where you will cross Highway 9; first at the stop sign at 236 where you cross Hwy 9 to run south through town and then at Mountain Street when you cross Hwy 9 again to run north to Forest St. On the southern end of Hwy 9 toward Mountain Street where a section of sidewalk is missing, there will be cones and barricades to keep everyone safe . Please stay within the barricade closest to the edge of the road.

 

Swag and more:  Once you cross the finish line, please stop by our Swag table. We look forward to giving you your 2024 Reindeer Run memorabilia after your race. This year, for the first time, there will be a refreshment bar with mimosas and beer for runners 21+. Participants will also receive a coupon for a free 8 oz. coffee or hot chocolate (valid through 12/31/24).
